KIRKSVILLE, MO -- Looking back and moving forward was the focus of a city committee in its most recent meeting.

The Kirksville Lakes, Parks, and Recreation Committee met Tuesday afternoon at city hall to review the budget from the past year and attendance of programs and events in 2012.

Now the committee is looking into capital projects for 2013 and to of course continue the committee's goal of giving great recreational activities for the community.

"Over the coming year, we are planning to re-paint the outdoor pool. Also make some improvements to Rotary and North Parks and Jaycee also," said Kirksville Assistant City Manager Melanie Smith.

The Kirksville Lakes, Parks, and Recreation Committee plans to meet again in early February to discuss future plans.
