KIRKSVILLE -- Today at the Adair county public library the northeast Missouri health council and the oral health alliance teamed up to present Brush up part 2. Truman state university pre dental and pre occupational therapy students informed children on how to properly take care of their teeth by reading them two stories, performing a puppet show, and demonstrating proper brushing techniques on enlarged teeth.

"We're really wanting the kids to know and parents to know that we want them to get in and see the dentist and take care of their teeth and the importance of brushing, regular care, preventative care, and just working with them and the students to make their life a little healthier and the northeast dental clinic is now open so pushing that too just letting them know that we've got a new building and we're in there," said Amy Carroll Outreach Coordinator for Northeast Missouri Health Council.

The northeast Missouri health council hopes to put on more presentations later on this year to inform children on how to keep a healthy smile and we’ll be sure to let you know right here on heartlandconnection.com.
