With the start of a new year, the Missouri Department of Conservation has started a new round of featured classes. Today the knee high naturalists, ages 3 to 5, learned about the pallid sturgeon. The pallid sturgeon is an endangered species that the Missouri Department of Conservation will be featuring for the next few weeks to promote awareness of its declining population. 

“The kids made a craft today that was a habitat for the pallid sturgeon. So that they can get an idea where the pallid sturgeon lives and we'll be doing something similar with creature feature and we'll go a little more in depth because its bigger kids.” said Amanda Moore

The next class featuring the pallid sturgeon will be on Wednesday at the Missouri Department of Conservation office in Kirksville from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. There are other classes as well. All you have to do is click this link to see when events are happening:
