KIRKSVILLE, MO. -- A much needed change is coming to Kirksville City Hall.

Yellow tape, orange cones and signs block of the front entrance to City Hall. That is because the city's capitol improvement project calls for a replacement of the roof.

Kirksville Codes and Planning Director Brad Selby said that the project is in the 2012 budget.

“We bid the project early in the summer and the contractor was busy and just now got to it,” Selby said.

Selby said they had to block off the front door of City Hall for safety reasons, because they were ripping old shingles off.

“Today they'll be putting shingles on that side of the building,” Selby said.  “We just got a little bit up at the top (left) and hopefully they'll be done in a week or so.”
