With an excessive heat warning in effect until 7 p.m. Saturday, shelter is being offered to those who need to get out of the heat. If you do not have access to air conditioning, you are encouraged to take advantage of cooling center sites.  The Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services is listing cooling center sites throughout Missouri.

In Ottumwa, people may cool off at the Salvation Army, 505 W. Main St.  It is available Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
