KIRKSVILLE, MO -- One Heartland church school decided to give people a chance to find some holiday gifts this weekend.

Faith Lutheran School in Kirksville held its first ever Christmas Bazaar on Saturday.

People had a chance to visit with vendors and see their booths filled with crafts, such as home party products, handcrafted Christmas stockings, scarves, hair bows, doll clothes and more.

Organizers say it's a great way to help raise funds for the school.

"We are bringing people in to get them involved and letting them know that our school is here and helping the community out by promoting the school and celebrating Christmas," said Faith Lutheran School Board Member Tara Hettinger.

A large variety of Christmas cookies were for sale by the dozen and there were free drawings every half hour.

Some of the money raised at Saturday's event will go to help the family of a teacher at the school whose husband was involved in an accident.
