KIRKSVILLE, MO. -- The Kirksville Art Center is getting quite the face-lift. Three thousand clay mosaics will cover the front of the building, replacing old tiles.

Students from all different schools as well as multiple organizations are making all of the mosaics. The mural will depict the Kirksville community including native plants, all while bringing the community together to create the masterpiece.

"They also wanted to include or incorporate something that was recognizable from previous art like the swirls from Vincent Van Gogh's paintings. And so the idea from here represents both water and sky," said Connie Greany, art educator.

A ribbon-cutting event is set for April, 5 and invites everyone to come take a look.
