KIRKSVILLE, MO -- Kirksville police continue to investigate a recent unattended death.

We're told by authorities that a male in his early twenties from Kirksville died Sunday.

During the course of the investigation, it was determined that the victim became ill after inhaling, a small quantity of fake marijuana or K-2

In a related matter, officials served a search warrant on a local business.

Right now, authorities have not confirmed the name of the business. However officers seized items from the store, believed to be consistent with synthetic cannabinoid.

Police are calling this a fact-finding investigation, so the name of the victim or others involved are not being released.

If you have any information that would help investigators, you're asked to contact the Kirksville Police Department.
