KIRKSVILLE, MISSOURI -- Community members and citizens gather to start their day with prayer.

The Kirksville Interchurch Ministries sponsored the annual Community Prayer Breakfast Thursday morning.

It's an event in which area church leaders and community members come together for fellowship and to recognize the outreach that the churches do for Kirksville.

This year's guest speakers were Mac and Jill McCord. Mac McCord shared how he carries his faith with him.

"I have carried a little aluminum cross with a card that explains it. I'm not carrying it to show anybody else that I am a Christian,” said Guest Speaker Mac McCord. “But to remind myself of this challenge from Christ to go and approach others and spread the word."

The McCord's message was how love can overcome fear when approaching someone to talk about faith.

The McCords tell KTVO they were honored to be guest speakers at this year's breakfast prayer.
