KIRKSVILLE, MISSOURI -- 4-H is about young people making new friends and memories while preparing to be future leaders.

One Heartland teen is showing his leadership skills.

Trent Todd has been a 4-H member for ten years. While attending Missouri State 4-H Congress, he campaigned to be one of three Northeast Missouri Regional Representatives to the State 4-H Council.

At the conclusion of the event, he was excited to hear that he won.

So, what duties will he be involved in as a Missouri State 4-H Representive?

"We are kinda the behind the scenes people that make Missouri 4-H run,” said 4-H member Trent Todd. “Yes, the Missouri University of Extension, they have their name on Missouri 4-H. but we give them input on how to make things better or how to improve."

Todd has gotten bit by the politic bug, He plans to campaign for President or Vice-President of the Missouri 4-H Council next year.

He says the best part of 4-H is meeting new people and going on the trips.
