OTTUMWA, IA -- Spring is almost here, and Ottumwa is gearing up for the 2011 Iowa Horticulture Expo.

Organizers met this morning to begin setting up at the Bridgeview Center. The 3rd Annual Expo is sponsored by the Iowa State Horticultural Society; representing 27 states and local organizations.

The two day event goes from Friday March 25th, to the 26th from 11 A.M. to 4 P.M. There will be numerous guest speakers, gardens, and an insect zoo for kids. Over 500 people are expected to attend.

Board member Neric Smith says it's great for fans of the outdoors and people will learn a lot.

"We hope to draw from all over the state and actually surrounding states. So its got a little bit of everything for everybody. If you have interest for the outdoors and plants, it's a great place to pick up a couple ideas for the coming season."

Proceeds go to the Iowa State Horticultural Society. The cost is $15 for one day and $25 for both days.
