KIRKSVILLE, MO -- Most of the Heartland started this Sunday on an icy note as freezing rain fell throughout the area.

All of our viewing area was under a Freezing Rain Advisory through the morning and early afternoon hours.

Most of us saw anywhere from one to two tenths of an inch of accumulating ice.

Streets and sidewalks were slick at times making travel a bit hazardous.

Branches and power lines were lightly covered in ice as well.

Once the temperatures began to warm up, the freezing rain did change over to all rain, allowing the ice to melt.
