OTTUMWA, IOWA -- During the summer we have all heard how important it is to stay hydrated but we often forget that it’s just as important to stay hydrated during the cold winter months, as well.

Hy-Vee Dietician Heather Ware told KTVO that if water has become too much of a chore to drink eight glasses a day, there are other more flavorful options that will keep you just as hydrated.

One such option is infusing water with various fruits and letting chill overnight in the refrigerator in a mason jar.

And if it’s hard to get your kids to drink water, it’s time to get creative.

“These Vitamin Water Zeros are a zero-calorie options that do have that non-nutritive or artificial sweetener in them to make them taste good and sugary. We take those, put them in an ice cube tray overnight, add them to some Sprite Zero, zero-calorie option, and you get not only a fizzy drink but a flavored drink with a little bit of extra nutritional kick to it,” said Ware.

And especially on a cold day, sipping on some hot chocolate is another great way to keep you hydrated.
