Phillips says that the search warrant originated from evidence obtained during a traffic stop in the Eddyville area the preceding week.

At the time the search warrant was executed, Landgrebe was found in possession of methamphetamine. Phillips says that he was charged with Possession with Intent to Deliver more than 5 grams of methamphetamine, a Class B Felony; and Drug Tax Stamp Violation, a Class D Felony.

Also during the execution of the search warrant, two outstanding arrest warrants were served on Hector Garcia, 22, who was found at the residence.

Garcia was also charged with Felon in Possession of Firearm and Possession of a Controlled Substance as a result of the search warrant.

While serving the first search warrant for narcotics, deputies observed other items of potential evidentiary value related to a burglary investigation in Eddyville from late summer.

A second search warrant was obtained to seize that property.

The investigation is ongoing and additional charges are expected.

The Wapello County Sheriff’s Office was assisted in the investigation by the Southeast Iowa Intra-Agency Drug Task Force, the Ottumwa Police Emergency Response Team and the Mahaska County Sheriff’s Office and the Iowa Division of Narcotics Enforcement.

Garcia is being held in the Wapello County Jail on $13,000 bond; and Landgrebe is being held on a $210,000 bond.
