Staff at the hospital said they look for a deep knowledge of a practice and a community-oriented personality when they look to hire a new doctor, and Dr. Akoma will fit in just right with the Davis County Hospital staff and the Davis County community.

"In visiting with Dr. Akoma over the past few months, he's made two visits here to the community and he's excited about coming and joining the staff here," said Kelly Pottorff, Clinic Manager at Davis County Hospital. "He's looking so forward to living in a small rural area and practicing and serving the people of the community."

Dr. Akoma's position is a new position being added to the staff, and he will begin practicing at the hospital on July 15.
