Science lessons being put to the test

KIRKSVILLE, MO -- A few northeast Missouri schools put their science to the test.

The Region 2 Science Olympiad took place Saturday morning at Truman State University in Kirksville.

About 400 students from 15 middle schools and 17 high schools in the region competed in active hands-on group activities.

The activities ranged from genetics, chemistry, physics, geology, earth science, mechanical engineering, and technology.

Students from Kirksville, Mary Immaculate, Macon, Milan, and Green City School Districts participated.

Truman State University has been holding the event now for the last 20 years.
