KIRKSVILLE, MO --
The City of Kirksville along with the Adair County Humane Society and Pawsitive Animal Works held the 7th annual Doggie Luau Saturday afternoon.

For only $5, dog owners and their four-legged friends were allowed to swim and cool off at the Brasher Park Wading Pool to have some end-of-the-summer fun.

"Happy dogs. Happy people. Everyone just getting out to socialize. It's a great behavioral thing for dogs as well fun for everybody," said Laci Cook of Pawsitive Animalworks.

About 20 participants took part in the event.

All the money raised will go towards the needs for the Adair County Humane Society.

Organizers held this event as well to help bring out the importance of pet adoption.
