KIRKSVILLE, MO -- We all know conditions were brutal early Thursday, but after the sun came out, so did the sledders.

The young and the young at heart went out to Rotary park to hit the hills for an early evening of action, but sledding isn't the only thing kids enjoy doing out in a wintry wonderland.

“I like to hit my dad with snow balls,” Ella Cochran said. Dads and other adults weren't just there for snowball fights though; they were also racing down the hills themselves.

“I think it lets them be a kid for a little bit. It’s kind of nice to get out and play and have a little big of fun instead of being adults. So, its fun to get out and play,” Kathy Monroe said.
