NOVINGER, MO. -- Last weekend it was all about deer hunting, but this weekend it was all about shopping in the northeast Missouri community of Novinger.

The Lions Club held its annual Shopper's Delight event at the Novinger Fire House on Saturday.

This event featured booths with all types of commercial products such as cosmetics, cooking items, toys, candy, and clothing.

Organizers say the best thing about this event is the big turnout and seeing people begin their holiday shopping early.

"I have people come through here every year. They are the best friends. You meet other vendors from all over the place. It's seeing a lot of family, friends, and other people. It gets them in the mood and all ready to come out. They have an idea of what they want and look for bargains. Here, you can find little stocking stuffers and things they know they want and going to get it," said Shopper's Delight Coordinator Lena Reardon.

While shopping, people also had the chance to buy breakfast and lunch. All the food was cooked and served by Lions Club members.

The money raised from vendors purchasing booths will go right back to the Lions Club and the Adair County Fire Department in Novinger.
