KIRKSVILLE, MO -- The heavy rains on Sunday did not stop one Heartland church from worshiping.

Hamilton Street Baptist Church in Kirksville held its 5th annual "Worship In The Park" Sunday morning.

The service was originally scheduled to take place at Rotary Park, but was forced to move indoors due to the rainy weather.

The rain couldn't disrupt the message nor the songs of praise.

There were children and adult worship messages. Songs were sung by the church's band and choir.

After the service, all the attendees were treated to a free lunch.

The event is held every year on the first Sunday of the fall semester at Truman State University to help the community get involved with their local churches.
