KIRKSVILLE, MO. -- A major annual event starts and ends in a big way!

Organizers of the Missouri Livestock Symposium held in Kirksville tell us they had the largest outdoor exhibit ever and drew more than 2,000 people to Kirksville.

KTVO spoke with Kirksville Tourism Director, Debbie Boughton. She tells us several hotels were completely booked for the two-day event.

"It brings people from almost all the counties in Missouri and about 15-20 states in the surrounding area so we're very pleased, and it provides a lot of wonderful education to our agricultural industry," said Boughton. "The livestock symposium is a fantastic event for Kirksville."

Boughton tells us the symposium helps bring tourists back to the area.

Organizers of the symposium are pleased with the turnout and said it's a great opportunity to invite tourist back for other reasons.
