KIRKSVILLE, MO -- With the 150th Anniversary of the Battle of Kirksville this weekend, many organizations are taking this time to remember the era.

The Adair County Historical Society held it's 3rd Annual Navigation Rally Friday afternoon.

The group goes in various different cars to travel around the county to historic area places.

With this year's theme being around the Civil War, the group went to St. Mary's in Adair and a few cemeteries that have gravesites of fallen civil war soldiers organizers do this to help locals become more aware of local history.

"It gets people out to see landmarks and become familiar with them. Many people who live in the city may not go by them or realize it's there. This will help them get familiarized with our history," said Adair County Historical Society President Charles Frost.

The rally ended tonight in Brasher with the cemetery theater that featured stories of the Civil War.

The Battle of Kirksville festivals runs all this weekend at Rotary Park in Kirksville.
