KIRKSVILLE, MO. -- The snow is melting, the days are getting longer and spring has almost sprung, which means outdoor activities will soon be in full swing.

Gardening is a great activity for your health, and if you want to learn some tricks of the trade, consider signing up for the "Spring Forward into Gardening" workshop put on by the Adair County Extension office in Kirksville.  A lot of topics will be covered including growing cold-season vegetables, using organic pesticides, caring for plants in drought, growing herbs and cooking with them and landscaping tips.

“If someone is interested in attending they do need to pre-register. There is a $16 charge for the workshop, which includes lunch, which will be served at noon.  For information and registration, call the Adair County Extension Center at 660-665-9866 or you can download a registration form off the Adair County Extension website,” said Jennifer Schutter.

You can pay at the door, but if you do, you'll have to bring your own lunch. If  you would like to print out an application, please click the link below.
