Man accused in enticement of teen

KIRKSVILLE, MO. -- A report by the mother of a minor child, that she believed an older male subject had been bothering her 15-year-old daughter with special needs, lands a Kirksville man in jail.

David Calhoun, 35, is charged with use of a child in a sexual performance and attempted second degree statutory rape. He is being held in the Adair County Jail under $25,000 dollars cash only bond.

According to court papers, Calhoun is accused of enticing the teen to text him pictures and messages of a sexual nature.

He also is accused of attempting to lure the victim to a motel where the two would engage in sexual activity.

According to the probable cause statement, Calhoun admitted to attempting to meet the victim for sex, but said he thought she was 25 years old.
