OTTUMWA, IOWA -- With the year 2013 already upon us, many of us are trying to exercise more often and eat healthier.
And Jami Brechon of Work It Out Fitness in Ottumwa has not only made it her mission to help her clients meet their fitness goals but also to teach kids that exercising can be fun and how eating healthy can become second nature.
And she’s doing that by starting a new kids program called Work It Out Kids and it kicks off next week.
“And we're just going to do -- kind of depending on the age group -- the older kids it's a little more organized type of a class: they'll be doing zumba, yoga, combat, little bit of kettle bell, everything different just to try to get them to love fitness in all different ways. Jump rope, and to see a lot of the stuff they already do is fitness,” said Brechon.
On January 12, Work It Out Fitness will be hosting a “Fitness Rocks” day in honor of Hairball coming to town that night. There will be free classes offered for the entire family starting at 10 a.m. and running until noon.
