OTTUMWA, IOWA -- It’s a day focused on nature; the annual Eagle Watch will be taking place Saturday January 12 at the Bridge View Center.
The activities will start at 8:30 a.m. with the traditional guided Eagle Hike starting at 9 a.m.
There will be 20 exhibitors that will provide all kinds of demonstrations.
And if you don’t want to weather the cold on the Eagle Hike, there will be scopes set up inside.
“So people will be able to stand inside the Bridge View Center and watch the eagles with scopes and so that's pretty fun too. There's a capsized boat that's in the river and a lot of times they'll perch on that boat and dive for food or they'll be flying and they'll be landing on that boat. So it’s on a perfect position for us with the scopes inside Bridge View Center,” said Kim Hellige, Wapello County Trails Council.
Plus there will be a live eagle on display during the day at the Bridge View Center during the day.
There will also be a photography contest featuring different categories of art work from all over southeast Iowa.
