Ottumwa Regional welcomes its first baby of 2013

OTTUMWA, IOWA -- Ottumwa Regional Health Center welcomed its first baby of 2013 Tuesday morning.

At 6:46 am, Maria Fernando Valencialino, weighing a little more than six pounds and 19 inches long, was officially the first baby born in Ottumwa in 2013.

Maria's mom, Ileana Valencialino, says that she was very excited to have the first baby of the new year at Ottumwa Regional Health Center.

Maria is Ileana's second child.

The hospital and surrounding businesses donated over $500 worth of goods to the Valencialino family for being the first baby born of the new year.
