KIRKSVILLE, MO -- Now that Christmas is over, it is time to start thinking about your New Year's resolutions.

While the usual resolution of losing weight is always popular, most time we don't see the resolution going through the next year.

Aprille Puryear, manager and fitness instructor at Anytime Fitness tells us it is important to find a partner.

"First of all you want to find a partner; you want something that's going to rev you up. The partner has to be somebody that motivates you to get into the gym. You really have to look at what part of your body you want the change or maintain," said Puryear.

She adds that you should also change your dieting mindset into a way of life. She said the healthier you feel, the more energy you feel, the more motivation you'll have to go to the gym.

"You want to find the equipment that does that for you because if get you on the wrong equipment or are doing it incorrectly you're not going to see the results, you're going to get discouraged and you're going to quit," said Puryear.

If you plan on starting your workout routine, Puryear said it important to start on the treadmill and reclining bike. She said it is good to start with those, but always switch machines as your workout intensifies.
