OTTUMWA, IOWA -- Save for Black Friday, the day after Christmas is perhaps one of the busiest days of the year for shoppers.

In Ottumwa, the newly-opened Kohl's saw a busy day on both Christmas Eve and on Wednesday, the day after Christmas.

"We've seen a lot of foot traffic, a lot of customers, everybody's been in a really good mood and just doing a lot of after Christmas shopping right now, probably using a lot of gift cards," said store manager Dale Christiansen. "We've had some returns, of course, but everybody's been in good spirits, we've been properly staffed and handled the business."

Christiansen said for being the first year the Ottumwa Kohl's has been open during the holiday season, everything went very smoothly and the staff is very impressed with the amount of shoppers and business.
