OTTUMWA, IOWA -- The Wapello County Website will soon be getting a facelift.

At Tuesday's meeting, the Wapello County Supervisors discussed a website upgrade with Professional Computer Solutions, a business in Ottumwa.

The county was first approached by an out of town firm, whose offer was too expensive. However, PCS is local and offers a more affordable way to upgrade graphics and information.

The website is only about five years old, but the supervisors say it is high time for an update.

"I think some of our departments have had trouble for one reason or another keeping it up-to-date, so we want to get something that's simpler, a little more modern and something that we can add some functions that we don't currently have, like carrying election results live and just more user-friendly," said Steve Siegel, of the Wapello County Board of Supervisors.

Siegel said the board will talk to each of the county department heads to see what they would like on the new site.

The design could be online as soon as a couple of weeks, but won't be completely finished for a couple of months.
