KIRKSVILLE, MO -- KTVO's own John Garlock had a chance to spread some holiday cheer with an annual tradition at Kirksville Manor Care Center Monday morning.

Garlock went and read some Christmas stories to the residents there. It's something he has done for several years now.

He read stories including Rudolph The Red Nose Reindeer and The Christmas Story, among several others, while the residents listened and sipped on some hot chocolate.

We asked resident Virginia Muir which story was her favorite.

"Probably the one with the dolls that talked and waiting for Santa...Raggedy Ann. I think that was probably my favorite and one of Jesus being born was a good story too," Muir said.

After reading several stories to the residents, Garlock also had a chance to play the piano and sing Christmas carols with them. It's an event that he looks forward to this time every year.
