Northeast Missouri man enters guilty plea for a sex crime

KIRKSVILLE, MO -- A northeast Missouri man could face prison time after admitting he committed a sex crime.

Daniel Coy, 45, of Kirksville entered a guilty plea Tuesday in Adair County Circuit Court to a charge of child molestation.

Coy admitted to inappropriately touching a 13-year-old boy through the boy's clothing.    

Coy had also attempted to get the victim to touch him in an inappropriate way.

He could receive up to 15 years in prison.

The prosecution is asking for 10 years, while the defense is asking for probation.

Daniel Coy is scheduled to be sentenced on January 9.
