KIRKSVILLE, MO. -- A Kirksville man was critically hurt during a dangerous mishap in Kirksville Thursday afternoon.

Adair County Sheriff Robert Hardwick told KTVO Bill "Buck" Charles was somehow accidentally pinned between a house and a vehicle while helping move furniture.

Further details on exactly how it happened were not available.

It happened around 2:15 p.m. at 31 Overbrook Drive in Kirksville.

Hardwick said Charles, who is believed to be in his late 60s, sustained serious injuries to his legs and pelvic region.

Charles was airlifted from Kirksville to a Columbia hospital where he was listed in critical condition as of 9 p.m. Thursday.
