KIRKSVILLE, MO -- If you or someone you know has suffered a brain injury or tumor, there's a new group in the Heartland to show you are not alone.

Kirksville resident and brain tumor survivor Nancy Hueber is starting a brain injury support group for people in northeast Missouri and southeast Iowa.

She created the group to help survivors, families and care givers share their struggles with others and also help give a positive outlook on life.

"For them to know that there's encouragement from others. That there is hope and that they are not alone. They can explore resources together and just get encouraged," Hueber said.

If you are interested in joining the support group, it meets on the first Monday of every month.

For more information on the group call 660-665-3355.
