KIRKSVILLE, MO -- On this Halloween, one Heartland senior center decided to join in on the fun.

Village 76 Senior Center in Kirksville and the Kirksville Housing Authority held a costume contest this morning.

Only a few people participated but those who did came all out with their costumes.

Organizers wanted to show that you are never too old to dress up for Halloween.

"Halloween is a great time for fun. It's a time where we can dress up, act out, and have fun. Be normal but abnormal at the same time," said Kirksville Housing Authority Executive Director Doug Brown.

Prizes were given out to the scariest, funniest, and most creative costume.

Organizers said they want to make the costume contest an annual event.
