KIRKSVILLE, MO. -- Kirksville residents who are making a difference and inspiring others were recognized Thursday evening at the Kirksville Young Professionals (KVYP) 2012 Fall Banquet.

Brian Maijala with State Farm Insurance was the first speaker.

He talked about how being a part of this organization has helped him meet a lot of other young professionals.

The keynote address was given by ATSU Dean Emeritus of Students Ron Gaber.

22 people were nominated for the “5 Under 40” Award, and all were recognized.

The five winners were:

Amanda Powell with the Kirksville Area Chamber of Commerce

Dr. Justin Puckett from Complete Family Medicine

Bradley Ray with ETC ComputerLand

Mark Whitney with Century 21 Whitney Agency, Incorporated

Matt Wilson, Adair County Prosecutor
