STANTON, IOWA -- A teenager is dead after being hit by a freight train in southwest Iowa.
The accident happened in the town of Stanton, which is seven miles east of Red Oak, Iowa.
According to the Montgomery County Emergency Manager, the BNSF crew reported hitting the girl just before 5:30 Friday evening at a railroad crossing.
The girl's name is not be released at this time until family members are notified.
The incident is currently under investigation.
