CENTERVILLE, IOWA -- A former Centerville woman accused of attempting to kill her child on two separate occasions is now back in southeast Iowa.

Kristina Kennedy-Maroney, 23, now of Hicksville, Ohio, is charged with two counts of attempted murder and two counts of child endangerment.

Investigators say the alleged crimes happened in Centerville back in 2009.

Centerville Police Chief Tom Demry told KTVO Kennedy-Maroney allegedly held her infant child's face under water for approximately three seconds.

She's also accused of holding a pillow over the same child's face for about 10 seconds on a different occasion.

Kennedy-Maroney does not yet have a local court date set.
