KIRKSVILLE, MO -- One Heartland church held a service to thank those who have served our country.

The Southside Baptist Church in Kirksville held a Red, White, and Blue Service Sunday morning.

Church-goers thanked the service men and women for their hard work and the sacrifices to help keep America safe.

The church staff was grateful for people who came out to support the military personnel and first responders.

"I'm thankful for those that take the time to honor those that serve. That take the time to pause and remember and say thank you. That is important," said Pastor Aaron Rodgerson of Southside Baptist Church.

After the service, gifts were given out to members of the military as a thank you for their service.
