MACON, MO -- FFA and 4-H Missouri students got a chance to show off their rodeo skills in Macon Sunday.

That's because the statewide high school rodeo took place at the Macon County Fairgrounds.

Students got to compete in events such as bull and calf roping plus barrels and polls.

Participant Maddie Cuppy said rodeo is like any other sport that you need to prepare for, but it's a great experience.

"It's fun. You make a lot of friends. People are really nice. Has its pros and cons. There's a lot of pressure to it. You have to do good quite a bit," Cuppy said.

Students from Atlanta and Macon participated in this weekend's events.

The top four finishers in all categories won money prizes.
