KIRKSVILLE, MO. -- It’s not Christmas time yet, but that's not stopping this heartland mission from giving.

The Helping Hands Mission in Kirksville is having its annual coat giveaway on Saturday.

From nine to five, the sidewalk will be lined with hundreds of coats.

Helping Hands owner, Margaret Gregory said the mission has been doing this for years.

“I think it's a great thing,” Gregory said. “You know we don't think about other people, or other children out there that might not have a coat, but there definitely (are). So, I don’t think any child in America should go to school with out a coat.”

Gregory said she wants to emphasize that anyone who needs a coat, young or old can come and get one.

They don't ask for any information.

All of the coats are being given away.
