OTTUMWA, IOWA -- Ottumwa was named the Video Game Capital of the world in 1983 and starting Friday, gamers from all over the country started flooding to the Bridge View Center for the 2nd annual Grassroots Gaming Expo.

Record holders have already taken their places at their respected games.

Name a video game from past or present and it’s bound to be there.

“We also have a B.Y.O.C. area where you bring your own consul or computer and you can play with anyone and we have the internet set up too so you can play with anyone that's there. You can play with your friends out of town as well. We have a ton of tournaments going on for anything from arcade games all the way up to modern consuls such as pc’s and x-boxes,” said Elizabeth Bolinger, organizer.

The expo runs through Sunday evening. Kids 17 and under get in free with a paid parent.

Tickets are $10 for each day or $20 for the whole weekend. Sunday is family day and is only $5.
