ELDON, IOWA -- More than 100 people were at the Wapello County Fairgrounds for the first ever Old Iron Day Fest sponsored by the Eldon Masonic Lodge.

The event featured antique cars from as early as 1914.

There were also antique steam engines and saw mills. People at the event demonstrated shredding corn and grounding corn feed.

“This is a 1917 22 horse Wood Brothers built in Des Moines, Iowa. It’s 22 horse and it actually equates to 70 horses on the belt pulley. It would pull five to seven plows,” said Tom Nichols, event organizer.

Nichols hopes to make this an annual event and extend it to two days next year.
