KIRKSVILLE, MO -- They called him "Iron Will."

Will Jacobs, 13, of Winigan, Missouri lost his battle with brain cancer on Saturday, September 22, 2012.

His visitation took place at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Kirksville for six hours on Thursday.

Will's family members, friends and neighbors turned out to remember his positive attitude, strength and humor, which he maintained throughout his 13-month fight against cancer.

“Iron Will was a hero in my book,” one man said. “He’s been there for all of us, and he’s in the brotherhood of the fire departments all over the country, and he’s…the finest young man I’ve ever met.”

Will’s funeral service will be held at the church at 1 p.m. Friday, September 28, 2012.

Will is survived by his parents, Allen and Trena Jacobs, and his five brothers and two sisters.
