SULLIVAN COUNTY, MO. -- An investigation into a burglary by a Sullivan County Sheriff's deputy ends with four people jailed on meth related charges.

Sullivan County Sheriff Roger Smiley tells KTVO, when his deputy knocked on the door of a residence, on Highway N,  just west of Green City Friday night, he noticed a strong smell of ether coming from inside.

After receiving permission from those in the house, the deputy and a Green City officer who was with him, found several precursors used in the manufacture of methamphetamine in the residence. Smiley said it appeared that the four people at the residence were in the early stages of making meth.

Charged are Chad Hill, 27, Shashana Car, 30, and Tiffany Reynolds, 31, all of Green City. The three are each charged with manufacturing methamphetamine and are being held in the Davies-Dekalb Regional Jail under $50,000 cash only bond each.

Mark Zachary, 22, of Green Castle, was also charged at the scene. Zachary was charged with manufacturing methamphetamine and felony possession of a controlled substance. He is also being held in the Davies-Dekalb Regional Jail under $50,000 cash only bond.

All four are scheduled to make their first court appearance on October 4.
