OTTUMWA, IOWA -- Shoppers in Ottumwa have something to celebrate -- the Kohl's Department Store is now open for business.

The town has watched construction progress since the groundbreaking last year. Once the building was finished on the outside, preparation began on the inside. Store Manager Dale Christiansen said training and set-up went smoothly and the store has hired a staff of 125 great employees.

The doors officially opened Sunday, so what has been customers' feedback so far?

"They love it," Christiansen said. "We have a lot of shoppers that are loyal Kohl's shoppers, so they just love having it so close to them, they don't have to go to Des Moines, they don't have to go to Iowa City, they thought the building was awesome and they liked our brands. So very good reception, very good."

Kohl's will be holding a grand opening on Wednesday, September 26 with a ribbon cutting at 6:45 a.m.

The store's normal hours are Monday, Tuesday: 8 a.m.-10 p.m., Wednesday: 7 a.m.-11 p.m., Thursday, Friday: 8 a.m.-11 p.m., Saturday: 7 a.m.-11 p.m. and Sunday: 9 a.m.-10 p.m.
