Expired plates lead to drug arrest

KIRKSVILLE,MO -- A traffic stop in Kirksville ends with a Northeast Missouri man facing numerous felony drug charges.

Michael Prebe, 27, of Edina is charged with attempt to manufacture methamphetamine, possession of meth and unlawful use of drug paraphernalia.

According to court papers, Prebe's car was stopped by Kirksville police after it was spotted with expired license plates. 

A search of the car found a plastic baggie containing a white powdery substance. 

During a later search of the vehicle, following Prebe’s arrest, officers found numerous items known to be used in the manufacture of meth.

Prebe is being held in the Adair County Jail on $75,000 cash-only bond.
