KIRKSVILLE, MO -- Families in one Heartland community learned how to be active and healthy.

The Adair County YMCA and Northeast Regional Medical Center's Healthy Woman Program held a Family Fun Day in Kirksville Saturday morning.

Adults and kids heard from various speakers about the importance of exercising and eating healthy while doing it together as a family and having fun all at the same time.

Complete Family Medicine was also there to give checkups and offer advice on how to stay fit and active.

The event had a great turnout and organizers hope to do this event again in the near future.
