LA PLATA, MO -- One Heartland community ended the holiday weekend with a big bang.

The city of La Plata gathered today for the last day of the 60th Annual Soybean Festival.

After the weekend's rain during the first part of the festival, many events had to be postponed to today.

There was a chicken BBQ lunch and a parade with many floats including all the Queen Soyas of the past and present.

There was also live entertainment, vendors, and carnival rides.

The festival committee was very happy with the turnout and the success of the festival overall.

If you missed out on this year's festival, not to worry. The 61st Annual La Plata Soybean Festival will take place on Labor Day Weekend in 2013.
