KIRKSVILLE, MO -- One northeast Missouri organization is inviting the public to come and see their facility.

The University of Missouri Adair County Extension Office on 503 E. Northtown Road in Kirksville is holding an open house next Tuesday, September 4 from 2-5 p.m.

The organization is doing this to have the community become more aware of who they are, and the services they offer in the field of agriculture.

It's also an opportunity to show off their newly renovated kitchen and basement which were damaged by the flood of 2010.

"It has actually taken two years for our basement to be renovated and be ready for use again after the flooding. So this is going to be the opportunity to show people what we have to offer and show the new meeting room, which is going to be available for rental to the public. It's not ready yet, but it will be soon," said Jennifer Schutter of the University of Missouri Adair County Extension.

The Kirksville Chamber of Commerce is also planning to come by and do a ribbon cutting ceremony during the open house at 4 p.m.
